Almonds are always amongst our best selling snacks.
They’re gluten free and suitable for vegans.
They’re rich in protein and have the highest calcium levels of any nut which means they’re fabulous for healthy bones. They also help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease, and can help protect against diabetes.
We love to snack on them savoury, sweet or plain but almonds are probably the most versatile and widely used type of nut. They can be made into butters, milks, pastes and even liqueurs (Amaretto coffee anyone?)
Ingredient Origin: Almonds (Prunus dulcis) are native to Asia and have been cultivated for over 3000 years. Nowadays, the biggest grower is California, which is where we source the majority of our almonds. Rest assured, we only use Sweet Almonds (Prunus dulcis) in our snacks. Bitter Almonds (Prunus amara) contain hydrocyanic acid which is poisonous and not great for snacking…
